Cube Experimental in Action

Video surfaces demonstrating Fallout 3's new thriller mod.

The German modding group known as SureAI Team recently made its first release of an interesting psychological thriller mod for Fallout 3. It’s called Cube Experimental, and transpires within a very similar setting to the Cube film series.

Since the release, a fan of the game has uploaded a video that shows the introductory section of the mod where you discover the entrance to the deadly, yet forgotten cube complex. Judging from the clip, SureAI has done an impressive job. The production quality is undoubtedly high, with the demonstrated voice acting, camera work, and overall design showing off some pretty polished work. And just as we thought, the German voices do add to the foreboding atmosphere.

Although an English translation is promised, the clip will certainly help those who don’t speak or read Deutsch to jump straight into the deadly puzzle solving. If you’re waiting for the translated version, though, it may require a good dose of patience. “Unfortunately, I have to say that the English translation [is] stuck a little bit at the moment,” writes the developer, “because the power pack of my external hard drive is gone.” That doesn’t sound too good.
